With the release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel, the game will have two different types of Dark Elf presets, made specifically for the game. One preset is created for vanilla gameplay, using the High Poly preset while the other one is created for Rift gameplay. High Poly mesh is the one that is used in most of the Vanilla ESO meshes, since it's quite easy to obtain and edit. It's also the easiest to use and get the best result with. However, the problem with this preset is that it uses a lot of polygons, which can be very demanding on your PC. Furthermore, there are many unused polygons which, while they are not bad in and of themselves, do not contribute to the visual effects of the game. Therefore, if you really want to have some nice effects in your game, you should look for other decent mesh options such as the Simple Dark Elf Preset. This one features meshes that are low in poly count but provide good visual results, especially when coupled with the new Shader option available in the mesh.
The difference between this preset and the Simple Dark Elf Preset Natsh is that the Simple version disables the use of meshes, which include all the visual details of the mesh. It just simply replaces them with simple alpha channels instead, which can make it look a bit neater and cleaner. If you're using the Simple Dark Elf Preset, you're also allowed to select between five different eye colors (reddish, blue-grey, brown, green and violet) as well as four different hair styles (alt frizzy, straight, wavy and curly). Of course, the coloring and styles are entirely dependent on the model that you're using, so models that come with the default colors are already pretty much fixed to whatever color they may be, and you won't have to waste time or effort on changing them. With the Natsh preset, you have the liberty to make your model as creative and as unique as you want it to be.
